Murder suspect arrested in Atlanta after leading Cobb police on pursuit

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A murder suspect from Alabama was arrested Tuesday in Atlanta after leading police on a chase in Cobb County, police said.

Cobb County Police officers were patrolling around Cobb Parkway near Akers Mill Road on Tuesday around 5 p.m. when they spotted a white Mercedes-Benz GLC coupe that had been linked to a homicide in Mobile, Wash. Alabama. When the driver spotted the police vehicle, they sped off, heading south on Cobb Parkway at a “high rate of speed,” even passing a red light.

Police then attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver of the Mercedes sped off onto I-75 south, police said. The driver exited onto Northside Drive, where officers performed a PIT maneuver at the intersection of Bellemeade Avenue. The people inside the Mercedes attempted to flee, but were found with the assistance of the Atlanta Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and Cobb Police K-9s.

One of the people inside the car who was arrested was Laderdrick Davis Jr., 20, wanted on outstanding murder charges in Mobile, police said.
