Atlanta’s Emerging 100 Offers ,000 in Scholarships at Annual Gala

Six $10,000 scholarships and two $10,000 program awards were awarded to Atlanta students at an annual gala Saturday evening.

ATLANTA — A local service organization aimed at empowering Atlanta’s Black youth awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to outstanding students Saturday evening.

Atlanta’s Emerging 100 hosted its 11th annual Emerging Leaders Awards and Scholarship Gala, bringing together some of Atlanta’s top Black business and community leaders for an annual evening of giving.

The event took place at the Delta Flight Museum.

Big checks, smiling faces and inspiring speeches filled the stage as six $10,000 scholarships and two $10,000 program awards were awarded to Atlanta students, and these programs were intended to serve them. Fellows included Herman McGee, Joshua Salami, DeAngelo Stargell, Isaiah Rashid, Jeremiah Lowther and Gloria Okwueze.

“By investing time and resources in our youth, we not only empower them to realize their full potential, but we also strengthen the social fabric of our community. We recognize that mentored youth are more likely to excel academically, develop essential daily life skills, and become active, engaged citizens. This, in turn, cultivates a thriving and vibrant community here in Atlanta, where every individual has the opportunity to succeed and contribute positively. said Chris Scott, vice president of Atlanta’s Emerging 100 Group.

Awards were also presented to several members of the Atlanta community, including those who are members of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta.

The Emerging 100 of Atlanta is the young professional adjunct of 100 Black Men of Atlanta, a service organization founded with the mission “to improve the quality of life by supporting and enhancing educational and economic opportunities, particularly for young people African Americans in the Atlanta community. .”

The Atlanta Chapter is one of more than 100 chapters worldwide consisting of more than 10,000 members, all dedicated to not only creating a foundation for the next generation, but also helping them on their journey so that they are equipped to help the next generation.

“The Emerging 100 of Atlanta believes passionately in the importance of giving back to the Atlanta community and is proud to have provided over half a million dollars in scholarships since our inception, culminating in our 11th Annual Emerging Leaders Awards and Scholarship Gala! our volunteer members, we are deeply honored to foster a cycle of growth, support and resilience through mentoring initiatives,” said Scott.
