Casting Change Announced for Town Players Production of “Moon Over Buffalo”

Moon over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig, directed by Diana Canova, will be performed by Town Players of Newtown at the Little Theater, weekends from May 17 to June 1.

In Ludwig’s 1995 comedy, George and Charlotte Hay, a husband-and-wife acting team, struggle to act Cyrano de Bergerac And Private life to the repertoire while dealing with family crises and the possibility of a visit from a Hollywood director.

The Town Players cast includes Henry Wright and Gillian Holt as the Hays.

The role of Rosalind (Roz), the daughter of George and Charlotte, will now be played by Brianna Bowman.

The cast also includes Dan Murphy as Howard, Roz’s fiancé; Cooper Smithers as Paul, a television weatherman and Roz’s ex-fiancé; Laurel Lettieri as Ethel, Charlotte’s almost deaf mother; Tim Brandt as Richard, a lovelorn lawyer who courts Charlotte; and Calista Giroux as Eileen, an actress in George’s company who had a one-night stand with him.

The producers of the upcoming production are Stefanie Rosenberg, Nicole Kittleman and Tyler A. Kittleman. The stage manager is Barbara Disraeli and the light/sound operator is Cecil Kneen.

Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., as well as Sunday, May 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.

A Thursday evening show is also planned for May 30.

Tickets are $30 for evening shows, $25 for matinees and are available at newtownplayers.org.
