Which Buffalo Bills players are poised to emerge on defense in 2024?

Returning from injury: LB Matt Milano, DT DaQuan Jones, LB Von Miller

Milano, Jones, and Miller aren’t typical “breakout” candidates. All have been widely touted throughout their careers so far, but their 2023 seasons have fallen short of expectations due to injuries. Getting those players healthy again will be a huge boost for the Bills defense as a whole.

Milano suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 5, Jones suffered a pectoral injury in the same game that sidelined him for 10 weeks and Miller missed the first four games of the season on IR.

As for the 2024 season, McDermott expects Milano to be available to start practicing during training camp, Jones to be healed from his pectoral injury and Miller to be practicing fully without a knee brace.

“I’m excited to be back healthy, it’s good to see Matt here and Von as well,” Jones said. “I’m just excited to get back healthy and pick up where we left off.”
