Even though the Atlanta Falcons had a huge problem at quarterback, they should still be happy they didn’t sign Derek Carr. Having a disappointing season with an expensive QB who was supposed to be the answer would have been worse than cutting a second-year player.

Carr has been an average player throughout his career. He had a great season that was cut short due to injury, but since then he hasn’t been worth the money the Saints paid him. He wasn’t the thing that would make a team a Super Bowl contender.

Even though Kirk Cousins’ playoff record may be mediocre, you like your chances with him more than you do with Carr.
