Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane on Josh Allen: ‘He’s a linebacker who plays quarterback’

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is one of a kind.

His combination of arm strength, elusiveness, running ability and size makes him a true unicorn at the position.

General manager Brandon Beane sat down with GoLong’s Tyler Dunne to discuss a variety of topics, including his superstar quarterback.

“He’s a linebacker who plays quarterback,” Beane said. “That’s his mentality. You don’t want to take it away completely.”

It seemed like for the first half of the season the Bills were trying to keep Allen at bay when it came to passing the ball. Once Joe Brady took over as offensive coordinator, the Bills seemed willing to allow Allen to be Allen and be a freight train under center.

The star quarterback finished the season with 15 rushing touchdowns and 524 rushing yards. His rushing yardage was the lowest since 2020. But with a full season with Brady as offensive coordinator, expect those numbers to increase.
