Child pornography investigation leads to arrest of Carson City man

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) – Authorities arrested a Carson City man Friday on suspicion of possession of child pornography.

Darrell Wayne Thomas, 67, is being held in the Carson City Jail on $50,000 bail.

Thomas came to authorities’ radar in March when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported that child pornography was being downloaded in Carson City.

That led to an investigation. On Friday, the CCSO, the Northern Nevada Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Department of Homeland Security Investigations raided Thomas’ home and arrested him.

The ICAC Task Force includes the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Sparks Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Nevada Attorney General’s Office and Department of Homeland Security Investigations.
