Atlanta United 2 hosts Divisional Foe Crown Legacy FC Friday night

Luke Brennan started the scoring for Atlanta in the ninth minute after putting pressure on the Chattanooga backline and forcing a turnover in the box. Brennan got the ball on the baseline and fired a shot over the Chattanooga goalkeeper for a quick 1-0 lead. Chattanooga turned things around in the second half, finding the equalizer early after the halftime break before taking a 2-1 lead in the 87th minute. However, Atlanta wasn’t done fighting, as Jacob Williams took a crucial penalty in the 93rd minute, which Javier Armas converted to turn the match into a penalty shootout. Both teams exchanged successful penalties before Williams saw his attempt saved in the middle, as ATL UTD 2 fell in the shootout 5-3.
