A 32-year-old woman was arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a stabbing Tuesday night.

Grand Junction police responded to the Woodspring Suites, 659 Market St., shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday for a call about an unresponsive man.

According to GJPD, the man was found with a suspected stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shenting Guo was arrested and booked into the Mesa County Detention Center.

According to the affidavit, Guo told police that she and the man had been romantically involved. She thought she was pregnant and argued with the man about whether he was the child’s father.

According to police, Guo said she stabbed the man in the leg during the argument.

“She said she didn’t try to kill him, but admitted to stabbing him because she was ‘so angry,'” the affidavit states.

According to the affidavit, the woman also told police that she had cut off the man’s penis.

Guo told police the man didn’t appear to be in pain, so she went to the nearby city market and bought rubbing alcohol, antibiotics and beer, but forgot to buy bandages, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Guo told police at one point during the day that the man told her he was cold and might die. She said she gave the man some ibuprofen, floss and “vegetables,” but soon his eyes became dull.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office is responsible for disclosing the identity of the deceased and the cause and manner of death.

Guo is being held at the Mesa County Detention Center on $1 million bail.
