A PROPOSAL proposes to the Garden Grove City Council on Tuesday that approval be given for eight pool tables at a restaurant on Main Street (Shutterstock).

Professor Harold Hill may have something to say about this.

A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday’s Garden Grove City Council meeting to discuss a proposal to operate an eight-table billiards parlor in a Main Street restaurant.

The location for the proposed operation would be The Wharf, 12941 Main Street. Council is asked to revoke an existing conditional use permit and approve the introduction and first reading of an ordinance amending the Municipal Code with respect to “billiard rooms, billiard parlors and billiard halls.”

Also on the agenda:

  • a written request from the Union of Vietnamese Students Associations to hold the “43rd Annual UVSA Tet Festival” on February 1-2, 2025, in Garden Grove Park;
  • Discussion of an anti-camping ordinance as proposed by Council Member George Brietigam (Ward 1).

The council meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
