5 Buffalo Bills Who Have a Good Chance at Being Selected to the Pro Bowl for the First Time in 2024

Let’s be honest, the Pro Bowl has seen a decline over the years. It’s not as entertaining as it once was, but it still provides NFL players with an opportunity to come together and enjoy the accomplishment of being voted a Pro Bowl player. At the end of the day, it’s always an honor for players to be recognized as one of the best at their respective positions. The Bills have had Pro Bowl players like Josh Allen, Dion Dawkins, and Matt Milano among their list of players.

The Bills have players on their roster who are Pro Bowl level players, but because they are not big names, they do not get recognized. We see this year after year. While Buffalo has its sights set on something bigger than getting Pro Bowl invites, there are players who deserve recognition for their exceptional performances.

We take a look at the five Bills players who have a good chance of making their first career Pro Bowl in 2024.

After a rough first two seasons, Spencer Brown managed to turn things around last season. He battled through injuries and lackluster performances and was able to show Bills fans what he could bring to this offensive line. He was already a solid run blocker coming out of Northern Iowa, but his pass protection needed a major upgrade. After a solid third season, Brown is now heading into a contract year with the Bills. Most of the time, players play their best game when they are on the market for a new contract. If Brown can carry over from last season into next season, he has a good chance of making the Pro Bowl.

One of Buffalo’s new receivers is in the best situation of his career. Curtis Samuel spent time with the Carolina Panthers as well as Washington, and has never had a quarterback like Josh Allen. Samuel’s best season came in 2020 with the Panthers, where he threw for 1,051 yards and 5 touchdowns. His offensive coordinator that season was Joe Brady, who now runs the offense in Buffalo. Pairing Samuel with Brady and running the ball through Allen is a perfect combination for Samuel that could easily lead to a Pro Bowl-caliber year.

Bills fans can expect a big year from Dalton Kincaid in 2024. In a year that saw a lot of change on offense, Kincaid still racked up over 600 receiving yards. With the way the receiver room shaped up this offseason, there’s a valid argument that Kincaid could become Allen’s go-to target in the passing game. Kincaid was the second-best rookie tight end last year behind Sam LaPorta and will look to improve his game even more.

The fact that the running game wasn’t all about Josh Allen was a huge benefit to the Bills last season. James Cook stepped into the starting role and established himself as a dual-threat for this offense. He was the first Bill to rush for more than 1,000 yards since LeSean McCoy and he also added 445 receiving yards. Cook’s performance against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15 last year should have earned him a Pro Bowl invitation.

With very little change to the offensive line, there’s no reason to doubt Cook’s potential production in 2024. Joe Brady has created an offense that isn’t overly pass-oriented. The ball gets into the hands of all the playmakers, but Cook has the edge over these new receivers who are going to have to learn Brady’s system.

It’s very hard to understand how Terrel Bernard didn’t make the Pro Bowl last year, considering he had a better year than Matt Milano did in his 2022 All-Pro year. Replacing Tremaine Edmunds and having to play without Milano for most of the season, Bernard was arguably the best player on this defense last year (aside from Ed Oliver). Bernard’s linebackers coach last season was Bobby Babich, who is now the Bills’ defensive coordinator. This couldn’t be a more perfect fit for the rising linebacker.

Bernard is under contract for two more seasons on his rookie deal, so the Bills are hoping he can continue his progression and work his way to All-Pro status.
