Anime Matsuri Returns for Its 18th Annual Edition at Houston’s George R. Brown Center

HOUSTON – Anime fans, get ready! Anime Matsuri, Houston’s highly anticipated anime convention, returns this August to downtown Houston for its 18th annual event!

It is the largest anime convention in Texas and the second largest in the United States, attended by thousands of Houstonians. Guests were able to show off their creativity with cosplay costumes and had the opportunity to meet artists and creators of some of their favorite anime shows.

Former Mayor Sylvester Turner has also regularly attended events in costume! Last year, he dressed up as Luffy from the popular anime One Piece.
