HPD: Pedestrian dies after being struck by taco truck on Lawndale

HOUSTON — A pedestrian died after being struck by a taco truck in southeast Houston Sunday evening, according to the Houston Police Department.

It happened around 9 p.m. on Lawndale, near Wayside.

Houston police said officers responded to a call of a person being struck in the road. When police arrived on scene, officers found the victim dead.

Witnesses said the victim was at a crosswalk when he was struck by the taco truck.

A driver came forward and told police he was driving the truck.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
