“There are three separate flights, and we hope we all make it to the other side,” Burke said in the post. “We will spend two full days in Costa Rica and then continue with the planned trip.”

After visiting Costa Rica, students will visit Panama.

The group was stranded in Dallas on Wednesday after their flight was repeatedly delayed and then canceled by American Airlines due to bad weather in the area. The students spent the better part of two days in a hotel or at the airport while their chaperones worked to find a new flight.

A Go Fund Me was also started Thursday by a family member of one of the students and chaperones to raise additional funds so the students could move out of their hotel. As of Friday, more than $1,000 had been raised.
