Driver admits to fatally injuring pedestrian in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty to striking and killing a pedestrian while driving under the influence in December, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

Curtis Hall Jr., 36, admitted that he was driving at a high speed under the influence of alcohol when he struck and killed Michael Cosgrove, 69, on the evening of Dec. 15, 2023, on the block of 1000 houses of William Street in Buffalo.

He pleaded guilty to one count of criminally negligent homicide.

He faces up to four years in prison when he is sentenced on July 29. He remains free on bail.
