Girl Attacked and Arrested by Mississippi Police Officers | News

SENATOBIA, Miss. – The Senatobia Police Department (SPD) has released information about the arrests of two teenage girls while responding to a shooting on May 6, 2024.

The mother of the two girls said they were attacked and arrested by Senatobia Police officers and everything was captured on video.

Senatobia police said they saw a person matching the description of the person involved in the shooting, but the person ran away. They later took the man into custody.

Police said a crowd began to gather, leading to unrest, prompting officers to give adults and children a chance to clear the roadway, where officers suspected a crime scene, according to SPD.

SPD said a child was arrested for trespassing and was also previously banned from the Senatobia Housing Authority property.

Two more children were arrested for simple assault on a police officer after SPD said they struck an officer in the head multiple times with closed fists. They were also arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing public roads.

The mother of these two children was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing and was also previously banned from Senatobia Housing Authority property. said the SPD. Her sibling was also arrested for disorderly conduct.

FOX13 obtained a piece of paper from the Senatobia Housing Authority listing people who are prohibited from entering the properties they own. Anyone staying on the property will be charged with trespassing.

The children’s mother said her teens got off the school bus and walked to the side of the road, but officers arrested them for trespassing and disorderly conduct.

“I really want my babies to come home so they can see a doctor,” Shanecia Miller said.

Miller said there was a heavy police presence on East Gilmore Road because of a shooting in the area.

As her 13- and 14-year-old daughters crossed the street, they were both approached by three Senatobia police officers, she said.

“An officer came out and told her to get her black ass on the sidewalk. When she got there, she turned around and asked what you were going to do to arrest me,” Miller added.

Miller said that’s when police officers attacked and arrested her 13- and 14-year-old daughters.

The video shows several officers standing on the ground above them.

“A body was thrown to the ground. One was suffocated. I was not far from them. I ran over and got arrested for trespassing,” Miller said.

The woman’s daughters were not listed on the Senatobia Housing Authority’s list, but they were charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing.

She also said the hardest part was not being able to help while officers used what she called unreasonable force on her children.

The mother told FOX13 she will have a court hearing on May 8.
