Two people have died in a serious car accident on Airline Road

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – At approximately 12:30 a.m. on May 19, officers responded to a serious motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a truck on Airline Road that closed portions of the road overnight.

The motorcycle was traveling south in the 1500 block of Airline Road. The truck was traveling northbound and attempting to turn west onto a private driveway when the accident occurred.

The truck ignored the right of way and crashed into the motorcycle.

The 32-year-old driver’s motorcycle was on the road and he died at the scene of the accident. The motorcyclist’s passenger, a 30-year-old woman, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.

The driver of the truck, 52-year-old Carmen Guevara, remained at the scene and was later also taken to a local hospital for questioning.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of homicide under the influence of alcohol.

No names of the deceased victims were released, according to a statement from CCPD.
