Atlanta Downtown Launches Retail-Ready Business Accelerator

The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for product-based small businesses to apply for a 12-week program that includes technical and financial resources focused on leasing and operations of a retail window. This innovative program will select 15 dedicated applicants who aspire to open or expand their business in Downtown Atlanta.

• Applicants can apply here until July 24, 2024 before 11:59 p.m. EST.
• Cohort selection takes place on August 9, 2024, applicants will be informed by email.
• The program runs from August 20, 2024 to December 3, 2024, with classes bi-weekly on Tuesdays, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. EST.
• There will be an in-person graduation and pitch evening in December.
• Graduates will receive up to $3,500 in grant funding.

Retail Ready Business Accelerator participants will participate in live virtual classes focused on business planning, marketing strategies, visual merchandising and retail storefront rental. Program elements also include in-person tours, connections with downtown Atlanta landlords and lenders, and up to $3,500 in grants to support their business growth.

“Product-driven entrepreneurs drive much of Atlanta’s economy,” said Alena Green, Downtown Atlanta Economic Development Director. “This initiative will ensure these creators have the resources they need to activate vacant storefronts and improve the downtown Atlanta retail experience for everyone.”

The application process is now open and small businesses interested in products are encouraged to apply. Preference for minority and women-owned businesses, as well as businesses with an active City of Atlanta business license.
