Seattle Sounders aim to maintain dominance against Houston Dynamo

The Seattle Sounders visit the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday, looking to maintain their winning streak against their opponents. The Sounders have won four straight matches against Dynamo, conceding just one goal in that span, and have lost just once to Houston in all competitions since 2017.

The Houston Dynamo, despite their offensive struggles, has been exceptional defensively this season, allowing only 20 goals, the second-best defensive record in the West. Ibrahim Aliyu is the team’s top scorer with four goals, while Carrasquilla, called up by Panama for the 2024 Copa America, has four assists. Dynamo is in seventh place with 23 points, two more than the Sounders, ninth in the Western Conference.

Raúl Ruidíaz leads the Sounders with seven goals, while Rusnák stands out with six assists. Striker Jordan Morris also played a crucial role in scoring the winning goal in the last match against Minnesota United. Morris has already become one of the most goal-scoring players in the club’s history.

The Houston Dynamo will have to compensate for the absences of Héctor Herrera, Amine Bassi and Daniel Steres due to international commitments and injuries. These absences have put pressure on the team to find effective alternatives to the Sounders’ powerful attack. For Seattle, the key will be to take advantage of these defensive gaps and maintain consistency in finishing, something they have done well recently.

An even contest is expected, with Houston looking to capitalize on their strong form at home, where they have suffered just one defeat in eight matches this season. Seattle, on the other hand, seeks to confirm its recent recovery and move up the Western Conference standings.
