Father shoots rideshare driver after catching him sexually abusing his daughter, officials say

THURSTON COUNTY, Washington (Gray News) – A father in Washington state shot and killed a ride-share driver after he caught him allegedly sexually abusing his daughter last Saturday.

According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a disturbance call and stopped the ride-share vehicle, where they found the driver was injured.

Officers also found two cartridge cases in the area of ​​the reported unrest.

Investigators determined that the ride-share driver left the scene of the accident after transporting a “highly intoxicated woman,” the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators said the woman’s father discovered she was being sexually assaulted by the ride-share driver near a known fishing spot and shots were fired.

Officials said the driver was taken to the hospital for his injuries and arrested on charges of second-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping.

The case is still under investigation and further details have not been released.
