Anderson police are investigating a knife attack at a gas station

ANDERSON, Ind. – A 36-year-old man was stabbed at a gas station in Anderson Tuesday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Anderson Police Department, officers responded to a stabbing at a gas station on Meridian Street around 5:09 p.m. Wednesday.


When officers arrived at the scene, they found the man who was stabbed sitting in a vehicle near the intersection of 19th and Jackson streets. According to the news release, the man was taken to an Indianapolis hospital and remains in serious condition.

The initial investigation revealed that the 36-year-old was turning into the gas station parking lot when he was approached by a 29-year-old. An altercation reportedly broke out between the two men and the 29-year-old reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the 36-year-old.

The 29-year-old man reportedly left the scene before police arrived. Officials said there have been no arrests at this time and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
