Record heat possible in Arizona for the rest of the week

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – Another day of First Alert Weather is in effect across the valley and we continue to simmer in record heat.

We broke the record for warmest morning temperature at 92 degrees (previous record: 91 degrees – 2023) AND we TWISTED today’s record of 115 degrees set in 1958!

Here in the Valley and throughout most of the state, heat advisories remain in effect through Friday night for dangerous heat.

The air quality is once again poor and the ozone levels are harmful to health.

A high air pollution warning is in effect for Maricopa County until Thursday evening.

Some gusty winds could carry some dust from storms in eastern Arizona to parts of the northeast and southeast valley.

Maximum temperatures on Thursday and Friday will again be between 46 and 46 degrees.

This huge ridge of high pressure responsible for this record heat will move east into the Four Corners region by Friday night and Saturday.

This will lead to increased moisture flow from the east into Arizona.

It will remain humid and hot over the weekend and into next week, with a chance of rain starting Saturday night and early next week.

The models currently fluctuate between 10 and 30% probability.

However, make sure you drink enough fluids and plan outdoor activities, as next week we have some very hot days ahead of us with temperatures just below 40 degrees.
