Atlanta Braves News: Jarred Kelenic, Late Game Win, Orlando Cepeda, and More

The Braves won 2-1 in extra innings, and while Adam Duvall was able to play the hero, the pitching staff has saved the day for Atlanta all season. Offseason additions to the rotation, Chris Sale and Reynaldo Lopez have both been spectacular, while bullpen holdovers Pierce Johnson and Joe Jimenez have been steady stalwarts. The team’s pitching staff has been fourth in baseball in fWAR, missing the preseason Cy Young favorite for most of the year, and that includes brutal sixth-starter exits and two abominations from Max Fried to start the season. While the offense has struggled to produce consistently over the last two months, the pitching has held down the fort and kept the team afloat.
