Carrollton Police Investigating Monday Throat Slitting Incident – ​​WLDS

Carrollton police are investigating an incident in which a man’s throat was slit Monday evening.

According to a Carrollton Police Department report, the Carrollton Police Department was notified at approximately 4:50 p.m. Monday that a male suspect had sustained a laceration to the throat at a residence in the 100 block of Third Street. The injured suspect was transported to Boyd Memorial Hospital prior to officers’ arrival.

Police said that after the unidentified victim arrived at the hospital, they received information about a man who committed the incident. Officers investigating the Third Street address were notified of the possible suspect and arrested him at the scene without incident. The unidentified suspect is currently being held at the Greene County Jail in Carrollton.

Carrollton Police are currently working closely with the Greene County District Attorney’s Office and as of this morning, no charges have been filed.

Carrollton Police were assisted in the investigation by members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, Illinois State Police forensic investigators and Greenfield Police.
