4 Buffalo Bills who could still get a contract extension this offseason

With the Buffalo Bills still looking for ways to improve the roster for the 2024 season, now is the time for the front office to evaluate the roster as a whole and look beyond the upcoming season. With the NFL Draft in sight and most of the top free agents signed, general manager Brandon Beane may want to start talking with some current players about contract extensions.

In recent years, the Bills have used this time wisely and were able to secure extensions with key players before the season, including Ed Oliver, Josh Allen and Tre’Davious White. Although Allen and White did not sign their deals heading into the season, the groundwork was laid over the summer.

When talking about the best Buffalo Bills players at their position in the NFL, Reid Ferguson is often overlooked. Indeed, it can often be forgotten, which is a good thing for a long snapper.

Ferguson is one of the best long players in the NFL and it’s hard to remember a bad play he had on a punt or field goal attempt. There really are no guarantees on the football field, but it’s about as automatic as it gets.

Reid Ferguson joined the Bills in 2016 as an undrafted free agent, but was released before the season before returning to the practice squad in November of that year. He would return in 2017 and get the long snapper job. He has been a starter ever since and is now the longest tenured Bills player currently on the roster.

Ferguson is entering the final year of his contract and it’s hard to imagine the two sides failing to reach a deal.
