Person found dead in burning house in Orleans County

TOWN OF CARLTON, NY (WKBW) – The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal house fire.

The fire occurred early Monday morning on Sawyer Road in the town of Carlton.

At 3:40 a.m., authorities received a report of a house fire. When they arrived, they found a trailer completely destroyed. Two sheds and two vehicles were also on fire.

Officials say one person was found dead inside the home. The body was taken to the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.

Investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the fire.
