1 dead after fire breaks out at Hillsborough store, firefighters say

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – One person died when a fire broke out at a small grocery store in Dover Sunday afternoon.

The Hillsborough County Fire Department responded to the Red Alert fire at approximately 4:45 p.m. at Mexican American Grocery, 3223 Sydney Dover Road.

When the emergency services arrived, the building was already completely engulfed in flames.

When the fire department entered the store, they discovered a person who had died in the fire.

According to emergency services, no firefighters were injured in the incident.

Fire inspectors are currently on site to conduct the investigation.
