Second arrest after fatal shooting at Waynesboro bar

WAYNESBORO, Mississippi (WDAM) – Waynesboro police made a second arrest in connection with a recent shooting that left an Alabama man dead.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Richard Mayfield and charged him with accessory after the fact in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday night.

Brandon Cartwright, 24, was killed in the fatal shooting outside the High Noon Lodge in Waynesboro.

Richard Mayfield is the cousin of the man charged with first-degree murder, Jalen Mayfield.

Jalen Mayfield turned himself in to the WPD on Monday afternoon.

His bail was set at one million dollars.

At an initial appearance on Wednesday, Richard Mayfield’s bail was set at $500,000.
