Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street The Musical comes to Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A new exhibit and musical is coming to Midtown that will bring nostalgia to many parents and joy to children.

The Center for Puppetry Arts launched its new exhibition “Down in Fraggle Rock” last week.

“From shards to doozers to gorgs,” said Sarah Dylla, the center’s director of development.

The exhibit features the original puppets from the 1980s production and the new Apple TV edition.

“There’s nothing like this place in the entire country,” Dylla said.

It is enough to bring in new collaborators from everywhere, humanely And puppet.

“Uh, my name is Speckles,” said the long-haired blue creature. “It’s spelled SPEK-ekles.”

Spekles says he moved “all the way up north” and started his job as a tour guide moments before the interview.

“I worked here for about three and a half minutes,” Spekles admitted.

Although he is new to the Center for Puppetry Arts, Spekles is an expert when it comes to puppets.

“Fraggle Rock is a television show created by Jim Henson,” Spekles explained. “And he said, when he pitched his idea, that he wanted to make a puppet show that would bring peace to the world.”

The center also gets a first look at a unique version of Sesame Street The Musical, which concluded its Broadway run in December 2023.

“We are thrilled to be the first regional production of Sesame Street since Broadway,” Dylla announced.

The plot?

“I think you need to go see him,” Dylla said. “I don’t want to be a spoiler.”

“Puppets taught me how to count and read,” Dylla said.
