Clemson wide receiver shot during party, officials say

GREENSBORO, NC (FOX Carolina) – The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday that a Clemson player was shot and killed.

Officers said they were called to a home on Spring Mill Road around 2:30 a.m. Saturday because of a noise complaint.

On the way there, the officers were informed that there had been a shooting in the house.

Officers said the shooting victim was identified as 26-year-old Diondre Overton upon arrival.

Despite immediate medical attention, Overton was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to officials.

According to officials, this is an isolated incident, but the murder investigation is still ongoing.
