Gunna Confirms New Songs Coming This Year, Talks Return to Atlanta to Wrap Up Bittersweet Tour

Gunna is back out there, whether you like it or not.

The YSL Records rapper was released from prison over a year ago after pleading guilty and receiving an Alford plea deal in the ongoing RICO case that escalated into a circus. Many of his fellow rappers turned their backs on Gunna over the decision, making it seemingly uncertain what his eventual return show in Atlanta would look like. But when the rapper returned home to close out his Bittersweet TourHe was greeted with nothing but love from his fans, family and even The young thug’s father who was in the front row.

“It was the best show of the whole tour,” Gunna told Complex in London after a performance at Wireless Festival where he performed fan-favorites like “Pedestrian” and “Ski” as well as excerpts from One of the Wun. “It was overwhelming, but I felt love. I just remember being ready and praying. I talked to God and my family and let them know that I was about to put on a great show.”

Gunna has released his latest album, One of the Wun, in early May. On that album, he dug into a more lyrical bag while continuing to deliver his patented melodic flows throughout the project. It wasn’t received with the same immediate critical acclaim as his 2023 album, A gift and a curse, But speaking of the reception it’s been getting, he thinks fans are starting to warm up to the project now that it’s been out for a few months. “Everybody’s pushing it, (title track) ‘One of Wun’ is going crazy, ‘Neck on a Yacht’ is going crazy. I feel like people are really starting to digest the album now.”
