Morgan Wallen apologizes for chair-throwing incident in online posts

Morgan Wallen has apologized for his arrest in connection with a chair throwing incident from the roof of a Nashville bar.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the 30-year-old country star was arrested on April 7 on three felony charges.

Wallen addressed his arrest in a statement posted on his X account today.

“I did not feel comfortable coming out publicly until I made amends with some people. I have been in touch with Nashville law enforcement, my family and the good people at Chief’s. I am not proud of my actions and I take responsibility,” he wrote. “I have the utmost respect for the officers who work every day to keep us all safe. There will be no changes regarding my tour.”

The singer’s arrest came days after he kicked off the 2024 leg of his “One Night at a Time World Tour” earlier this month, which he will continue in Oxford, Mississippi on Saturday.

At the time of the incident, two officers were outside Chief’s Bar, a six-story bar and restaurant on Broadway, when they saw the chair fall over, Nashville police said.

Wallen was arrested and charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Nashville on May 3 for a “settlement agreement.”

Chief’s is owned by country singer Eric Church and had only opened its doors two days before the incident.
