Investigations underway in Colorado after body recovered from Chatfield Reservoir

A death was reported Tuesday at a popular Denver-area spot for Coloradans to cool off. A body was recovered Tuesday morning from Chatfield Reservoir in Chatfield State Park.

South Metro Fire Rescue dive crews were called to a water rescue around 8:30 a.m. Crews recovered a body from the water.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife authorities and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the events leading to the recovery.

The identity of the deceased was not disclosed.
