Buffalo Grove Park District Hosts Free Recycling Conference

The Buffalo Grove Park District Citizen Environmental Action Team invites area residents to a free conference on recycling and composting on June 17 at 6 p.m., at the Alcott Community Center, 530 Bernard Drive in Buffalo Grove.

Representatives from Waste Management and the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County will be on hand to clear up any confusion about what items can be recycled. Such confusion can lead to “wishcycling”, where people put items in a recycling bin in the hope that they can be recycled, without really knowing it. This practice can lead to contamination of recycling batches or breakdown of processing machines.
