A 10-year-old child injured by a stray bullet, police report

Houston police are on the scene of a shooting in which a child was injured in the South Side neighborhood.

Officers were called to the 7100 block of Scott Street after reports of a shooting that began with an altercation in a parking lot.

Police say a person shot another person, but a stray bullet hit a 10-year-old child in the leg.

The young boy was taken to a fire station to receive help from those present. He was then taken to hospital in stable condition.
