Arrested after report of suspicious vehicle | News

MAURICE – Two Granville residents were arrested around 1:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, following a traffic stop at the intersection of Highways 75 and 10, two miles north of Maurice.

The arrest of 39-year-old Marvin Leobardo Cax-Agueda and 38-year-old Alma Barrios Mendez followed an investigation into a report of a suspicious vehicle, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.

It turns out that Cax-Agueda was wanted on 2020 Sioux County warrants for third-degree sexual abuse and lascivious acts with a child – fondling or touching.

According to the incident report, Barrios Mendez gave false names to a deputy sheriff because she knew her husband was wanted on an arrest warrant.
