Man injured in Wyandanch shooting; Suspect at large

Police say a man is wanted in connection with a Saturday afternoon shooting in Wyandanch that left a Deer Park man injured.

According to authorities, this happened on Long Island Avenue just before 4 p.m

According to investigators, the 23-year-old man was in front of an auto body shop when he was approached by a man and shot twice.

The victim then ran to a friend’s house on Lakewood Street and called 911.

According to police, he was then taken to the hospital to be treated for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the shooter ran away.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
