Omaha man arrested in connection with gas station robbery and attempted robbery

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha police have arrested a man allegedly connected to a robbery and attempted robbery that happened just hours apart Thursday morning.

The first incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. at the QuikTrip on the corner of Saddle Creek and Leavenworth. A store employee told officers a black man jumped over the counter and took an unspecified amount of money from the register before fleeing in a dark sedan, later identified as a tan 2006 Honda Accord.

The vehicle was located and the suspect was identified as Bapahal Kuang (19). He was taken into custody and taken to OPD headquarters for an interview. The interview revealed that Kuang was linked not only to the QuikTrip robbery, but also to an attempted robbery around 8:40 a.m. at the Family Fare at 24th and Vinton Streets.

Kuang was charged with one count each of robbery and attempted robbery.
