A majority of House Democrats voted against a Republican bill that would require federal law enforcement to arrest and charge migrants who entered the U.S. illegally with assault on police officers.

The bill, called the Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act, was first introduced by Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey and supported by several other Republicans. It is among a series of bills the House GOP plans to bring to the floor in the coming days in honor of National Police Week. Republicans said in a news release Wednesday that the bills “highlight our continued support for America’s law enforcement agencies.”

The measure passed the House on Wednesday by a vote of 265-148; 211 Republicans and 54 Democrats jointly sent the bill to the Senate. All no votes were cast by Democrats. Six Republicans and 11 Democrats did not vote on the bill.
