Three women and three teenagers from Kansas arrested after shooting

SHAWNEE COUNTY – Police are investigating six suspects, including three juveniles, on multiple charges that began with a weapons incident.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Sept. 14, police responded to a report of shots fired near 19th Street and SW Buchanan Street in Topeka, according to police Lt. Edward Stanley.

Police determined that no one was injured, but there was property damage in the area due to gunfire.

Shortly before 6 p.m. on September 20, as a result of this ongoing investigation, members of the Topeka Police Department executed a search warrant for a home in the 1800 block of SW Lincoln Street. During the search, individuals were taken into custody and transported to the police center to speak with investigators.

As a result of the investigation, a 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were transported to the Shawnee County Juvenile Detention Center where they were arrested for aggravated assault, use of a deadly weapon, and obstructing a police officer – felonies.

A 17-year-old girl was also taken to the Shawnee County Juvenile Detention Center, where she was arrested for aggravated assault, use of a deadly weapon, obstructing a police officer (a felony), and violating the Cigarette and Tobacco Products Act.

Police also arrested three adults named Shannon L. Bailey, 44, Sarah E. Flynn, 40, and Baileah N. Flynn, 26, all of Topeka.

Shannon Bailey is being held on charges of aggravated child endangerment, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a law enforcement officer, a felony.

Sarah Flynn remains incarcerated on charges of aggravated assault, use of a deadly weapon, aggravated endangerment of a child, criminal damage to property (felony), criminal discharge of a firearm and obstructing a police officer (felony).

Baileah Flynn is in prison for aggravated child endangerment and possession of methamphetamine.
