Police search for driver after brutal hit-and-run accident in Southern California

Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department are searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a pedestrian in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Valley Glen earlier this month.

Surveillance footage taken near Sherman Way and Coldwater Canyon Avenue shows the man walking along the sidewalk shortly after 4:30 p.m. on July 3.


The pedestrian was attempting to run across the street when he was struck by a driver who, according to police, made no attempt to stop him, identify himself or render aid to the victim.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to the hospital, where authorities said he was treated for serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

The driver’s vehicle was described as a white four-door Infinity sedan.
