Court rejects parole applications of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Iddat case

A district and judicial court in Islamabad on Thursday rejected the requests of Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to suspend their sentences in the Iddat case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Afzal Majoka delivered the verdict, which was reserved on Tuesday.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) had earlier this month directed the court to pronounce the verdict on Bushra Bibi’s application for stay of conviction in the Nikah case within 10 days.

Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI) founder Imran Khan, moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the conviction in the Nikah case in which the couple was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of Rs 500,000 each.
