Social Media Reacts to the Atlanta Hawks’ Selection of Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 Pick in the 2024 NBA Draft

The Atlanta Hawks remained No. 1 and selected French forward Zaccharie Risachergrad in the 2024 NBA Draft tonight. Risacher was the favorite coming into the day and the Hawks didn’t hesitate to do so .

Multiple analysts have said that Risacher is a prospect who has limited potential but high upside and also plays a position where there is a need. He is versatile in both directions and has performed well since the lottery. He’s a plug-and-play forward who fits in with the Hawks as a 2 or 3 starter. He’s not an elite defender or offensive player, but he’s pretty solid in both and comes out of ‘a very good offensive season. He also doesn’t need to have the ball in his hands to be an effective offensive player, as his three-point numbers show. He’ll have to show he can do it, but he could be a real offensive threat next to Young and Johnson. He needs to show a wider range of skills on offense, however, and needs to drive and finish at the basket better.
