Truck driver rapes woman hitchhiking, kills her 18-year-old daughter

A truck driver from Rajasthan not only raped a city woman who gave him a lift, but also threw the woman’s 1.5-year-old child out of the moving vehicle, crushing him under the wheels. Ahmedabad district police have arrested Shravan Chauhan from Rajasthan on charges of rape and murder after an auto driver came to the woman’s aid and chased the perpetrator.

According to police, the 33-year-old Narol resident had gone to Piplaj to clean her new rented house and was accompanied by her 1.5-year-old daughter. When she returned it was already dark and she was taken by a truck driver who drove the vehicle to a remote location. He locked the cabin doors and demanded sexual intercourse from the woman. When she refused, he threatened to kill her child and raped her. The driver then raped the woman and later dropped her off on the main road. When she urged him to return her daughter, he threw the child out of the cabin and crushed her under the wheels.

The distraught woman screamed for help and a driver stopped to help her. He then gave chase and caught the truck driver Shravan Chauhan. The driver was later handed over to police, who charged him with rape and murder.
