First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park Announces Summer 2024 Events

GREAT FALLS – First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park near Ulm is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of its visitor center and invites visitors to join the celebration by attending activities in the park this summer.

A weekly “Jump Talk” will take place at the top of the buffalo jump every Sunday from May 26 to September 1, starting at 1 p.m. and lasting approximately 30 minutes. The free lectures will cover the park and the spooky sights there and focus on how the First Peoples hunted bison from the cliff’s edge. Discussions may be canceled in the event of bad weather.

  • June 8 Snake Hike
  • June 10 Bear Aware Program
  • July 13 and 14 Kite Festival
  • August 10 – 11 Mammoth hunting
  • Park Star Festival in September

First Peoples Buffalo Jump Park is located 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off I-15 at exit 270. Montana residents are entitled to free daily admission to all state parks by paying vehicle registration fees. Non-resident vehicles must purchase a pass to access the park.
