At least five people were killed and 50 others injured on Wednesday when a stage collapsed during a campaign rally in northern Mexico, according to the state governor.

“It was a tragedy,” Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Garcia told reporters at the scene, according to local television. “So far we have five dead and about 50 people with various injuries, some of them serious.”
