VALLEY CITY – A Jamestown man was arrested Saturday, Sept. 14, after driving the wrong way on Interstate 94 and striking two other vehicles, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The accident occurred at 8:39 p.m. about three miles southeast of Sanborn, west of Valley City.

According to NDHP, the driver, 39-year-old Skyler Holub, was traveling westbound on I-94 in the eastbound lane. Drivers of two other vehicles in the eastbound lane saw Holub and swerved to avoid a head-on collision. Holub struck the sides of both vehicles and then came to rest in the ditch on the southbound side of I-94.

Holub was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. The other drivers, identified as Kory Russell, 40, of Valley City and Peyton Glassic, 32, of Snohomish, Washington, were also not injured.

Holub was arrested for driving under the influence and reckless endangerment. The accident remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Our newsroom occasionally reports under the name “Staff.” The “Staff” name is often used when rewriting basic news briefs from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure that requires little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a story has multiple authors or when the story consists of compiling previously reported news from various sources. When outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
