Potential water main break under investigation in southeast Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta watershed management teams are investigating after a private contractor’s work allegedly caused a potential water main break.

It happened at 2995 Jonesboro Road.

Watershed officials said a gas line may also have been affected.

The department’s outage map indicates the possible disruption could mean a temporary interruption of service for residents and businesses in the area.

Authorities said repairs cannot begin until the area is deemed safe.

The potential breakup is just around the corner a day after city leaders said more sensors and jobs had been added to prevent future water main breaks.
