Punch Line Houston Comedy Club Opening Lineup

Discover emerging comedy talent in an intimate venue when Punch Line Houston opens at HTX Downtown starting September 2024.

Punch Line Houston, a new 250-seat comedy club building on decades of powerful comedy traditions, will open in downtown Houston in late summer, showcasing a hilarious and diverse showcase of talent comedians including Anglo Colina (in Spanish), Mark Curry, Chaunté Wayans, Jackie Fabulous, Mekki Leeper, Jamie Lissow, Zoltan Kaszas and more. Scheduled to host more than 350 shows annually, Punch Line Houston will be a new entertainment destination dedicated to live comedy. This is only the fourth Punch Line club to open, following in the footsteps of San Francisco’s legendary OG Punch Line. Given Texas’ abundance of comedic talent and success, Houston became the obvious next home for the Punch Line brand.

In addition to bringing the best national comics to downtown Houston, Punch Line Houston will also support emerging and local regional talent. The venue will host open mic nights and prioritize local comics for available slot openings.

Announced today, the first 30+ shows will go on sale this Friday, June 21, 2024. All shows are 18+.

Comedy programming opens at Punch Line Houston downtown

• Angelo Colina at Punch Line Houston | Friday September 13 and Saturday September 14, 2024 – The Venezuelan comedian, filmmaker, writer and producer, known for his stand-up performances in Spanish, will be the first comedian to take the Punch Line Houston stage for 2 shows.
• Marc Curry at Punch Line Houston | Friday September 21 and Saturday September 22, 2024 – Best known for his starring role as Mark Cooper on the beloved ’90s ABC sitcom I hang out with Mr. CooperCurry brings his signature comedy to Houston for 4 shows over 2 nights.
• Chaunté Wayans at Punch Line Houston | From Thursday September 26 to Saturday September 28, 2024 – Hailing from the legendary Mayans comedy family, Chaunté Wayans performs for 3 nights at the new downtown comedy destination.
• Ian Fidance at Punch Line Houston | From Thursday October 3 to Saturday October 5, 2024 – Brooklyn-based Fidance will bring its upbeat, offbeat comedy to downtown Houston.
• Jay Jurden at Punch Line Houston | From Thursday October 10 to Saturday October 12, 2024 – Formerly editor for The problem with Jon Stewart on Apple TV, Jay Jurgen is also an actor and comedian whose liveliness has been praised by Just for Laughs, Free time in New York, VultureAnd Variety.
• Jackie Fabulous at Punch Line Houston | From Thursday October 17 to Saturday October 19, 2024 – Since its appearance in 2019 on America’s Got Talentwhich prompted Simon Cowell to come on stage to give him a hug, Jackie Fabulous delighted the audience with his hilarious, encouraging and thought-provoking comedy.
• Sophie Buddle at Punch Line Houston | From Thursday October 24 to Saturday October 26, 2024 – Originally from Ottawa, Canada, comedy album by Buddle A little bit of Buddle won the Juno Award for Comedy Album of the Year in 2020.
• Lisa Treyger at Punch Line Houston | Friday November 1 and Saturday November 2, 2024 – Treyger, based in New York and born in the Soviet Union, appeared in the Judd Apatow film The King of Staten Island and the hosts It’s Messed Up: An SVU Podcast. The legendary beginning of Punch Line

Punch Line first opened its doors in San Francisco’s Embarcadero district in 1978. Just 2 years later, legendary concert promoter Bill Graham purchased the space and the club competed with the best of the region. With the added help of emcee Bobby Slayton, Punch Line has become a favorite comedy club for performers and audiences alike.

Whether it’s the culture, the unpretentious vibe, or just something in the water, Punch Line produces legends. It was the first stage on which many renowned actors set foot.
