Drive-Thru Coming to Buffalo Township Sheetz

Drive-Thru Coming to Buffalo Township Sheetz

Sheetz in Buffalo Township is getting a makeover.

The gas station and convenience store, located at Route 356 and Monroe Road, will soon include a drive-thru and updated store after township supervisors approved the project this week.

Supervisors gave approval for the existing store in 2007.

Sheetz will remove and rebuild the existing store, fuel island canopies and car wash, according to company spokesman Nick Ruffner.

He called the new design a “restaurant-style experience” with self-service kiosks and additional seating, both inside and outside the store.

The store will expand to 6,139 square feet and include five double-sided gas stations, two fewer than currently.

Township Manager Rich Hill estimated construction could take about six months, but a start date is not known.

Ruffner declined to provide information on the construction schedule.

Once work begins, employees at that store will be offered other jobs with the company while reconstruction is underway, Ruffner said.

Sheetz has renovated several stores in western Pennsylvania in recent years, including one in Greensburg and another in New Stanton.

The Buffalo Township location will join a handful in the area offering drive-thru service, such as the Sheetz in Harrison and a recently opened store in Plum.
